What Liverpool Customers Say
Real Google reviews from Liverpool homeowners and landlords.
Had a call from Tom within 30 mins of submitting a website enquiry and arranged an emergency EICR for a home sale the following day. There was some unexpected but absolutely necessary remedial work to be done to make the electrics safe. Tom organised for Josh to come and complete the work that same day. The whole team were incredibly personable and polite and completed the work to a high standard. THIS is the way to run a business and leave the customer not just happy but blown away with the level of service.
Absolutely brilliant service from Michael. Had no electric due to burnt out main fuse. Answered phone straight away and issue was fixed within 90 minutes. Highly recommend. Thank you.
Can't thank the lads enough for their excellent job on our bungalow. A full rewire in 3 days, all hands on deck and promises met. Massive thanks to Michael and Tom and all the lads who minimised any damage to basically nothing. I fully recommend this company. There's not many out there who do what these lads do. They go that extra mile for you. I will definitely be back when we install our water feature.
Great friendly service at a great price. Quickly sorted a wiring fault tripping the lights circuit and wired up a heated towel rail. A big thanks to Tom and Josh.
Michael fit us in at short notice when our fuse switch socket started smoking. Communication was great. Price was reasonable for an emergency call out. We were pleased with the work and would definitely use him again for other electrical jobs.
I gave Michael a call on Thursday and he came out Friday and got the job finished very quickly, very professional and to a high standard. Needed a new light fitted that had to be moved over slightly, very happy with the outcome of the completed work. I would highly recommend Ideal Electrical Solutions and will definitely be using them again in the future.
Exceptional service from start to finish. Michael works to a standard that's genuinely hard to find: precise, organised, and consistently professional. Everything was quick and smooth, from the first contact and clear quote to the high-quality completion of the job. Very tidy work, with far less mess and disruption than I expected. He takes the time to explain what he's doing and he comes across as genuinely trustworthy. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled service.
Michael came to fix my light switch I was having problems with. No messing around, very polite and quick. Was done in less than an hour. Would definitely recommend.
I couldn't fault the services from Ideal Electrical Solutions in the slightest, they are absolutely fantastic. My partner and I are first-time buyers and wanted to get an EICR due to the age of the house. I submitted a request online at 3.30pm and Tom called within half an hour. He offered to do the inspection that same day and called back hours later having completed the job. His recommendations for work that needed doing were really clear. I will definitely be calling back if the sale goes through. Thanks Tom.
I cannot recommend Ideal Electrical Solutions enough. They were faultless from start to finish. From contacting me pretty much immediately after my enquiry, to discussing the job, getting me a quote and booking the visit in, the whole experience was perfect. The standard of the work was 10/10 and the engineer was prompt, professional and completed the job to the highest standard. Big thanks to Tom for co-ordinating everything and to Josh for his work on site.
Liverpool's Local Electricians
What you need to know about working with us.
Ideal Electrical Solutions is a Liverpool electrical contractor. Our base is 5 Sir Thomas Street, in the city centre. We are a NICEIC Approved Contractor. Our electricians cover every Liverpool postcode. We work on homes, rented properties and commercial premises. Every job is certified on completion.
Are we qualified?
Yes, and it is worth knowing what that means. Not all NICEIC electricians hold the same scheme. Domestic Installer covers homes only. Approved Contractor covers homes, commercial and industrial, plus inspection and testing. We are an Approved Contractor. We also hold the Rented Sector scheme for landlord work. Every one of our electricians holds a JIB Gold Card. All work meets 18th Edition BS 7671 and is certified on completion.
Is our work guaranteed?
Yes. Every job comes with a full NICEIC certificate. We are covered by £2 million public liability insurance. If anything is not right, we come back and fix it. Our Liverpool reputation depends on every single job we do.
Do we work on old Liverpool homes?
Yes. It is what we specialise in. Liverpool has one of the highest concentrations of Victorian and Edwardian housing in England. Much of it still has old wiring that poses a real safety risk. We know these older Liverpool homes inside out. HSE guidance recommends regular inspection of any older electrical installation.
Do landlords need an EICR?
Yes. Since 2020 UK law requires every landlord in England to hold a valid EICR, renewed every 5 years. Liverpool City Council actively enforces this. Fines reach £30,000 per property for non-compliance. We issue same-day certificates from £99.

Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our electrical services in Liverpool.
PAYMENTWhen do I pay and how?
We invoice on completion. Bank transfer, card payment or cash, whichever is easier for you. No deposits for standard jobs. Large projects like rewires may have a staged payment schedule agreed in writing before work starts.
DISRUPTIONHow much mess will you make?
We use dust sheets throughout. We tidy up as we go. We hoover before we leave. New cabling can mean some chasing into walls or lifting of floorboards. We minimise damage and always discuss any mess points before we start. Most jobs leave your home exactly as we found it.
QUOTESIs the quote really the final price?
Yes. The written quote we send is what you pay. If we find an unexpected issue on site, we stop. We explain what we found. We then agree any extra cost with you before continuing. No surprise bills, ever.
GUARANTEEWhat if something goes wrong after you have left?
We come back and fix it. All our workmanship is guaranteed. New installations come with a minimum 12 month workmanship warranty. Rewires and major installations come with a 10 year guarantee. We are covered by £2 million public liability insurance.
OLD PROPERTIESOur house is Victorian. Can you work on it?
Yes. We specialise in older Liverpool homes. Victorian and Edwardian houses often have old wiring, lath-and-plaster walls, and tricky layouts. We know these houses inside out.
PRICINGDo you charge a callout fee?
No callout fee. You pay our hourly rate from when we start diagnosing, with a 1-hour minimum. Out of hours rates apply for evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
PRICINGWhat is your minimum charge?
1-hour minimum from £80 for weekday daytime work. Most small jobs are done within the hour. Out of hours rates apply for evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
AVAILABILITYDo you work weekends?
Yes. Saturday and Sunday bookings available for non-emergency work, with weekend rates of £120 per hour. Emergency callouts are 24/7 every day of the year, including bank holidays, with emergency rates.
RESPONSEHow quickly can you come out?
Emergency Rate callouts within 30 minutes across Liverpool, day or night. Same-day non-emergency bookings available where slots permit. Pre-booked work usually within 1 to 3 working days depending on scope.
QUOTESDo you do free quotes and site visits?
Yes. Free site visits and written quotes for any job over £200, including rewires, fuseboard upgrades, EV chargers, lighting installs and EICRs. The quote is what you pay. No surprise bills.
CHECKSHow do I check an electrician is properly registered?
Search the NICEIC register by postcode or company name. It shows which scheme they hold. Domestic Installer covers homes only. Approved Contractor covers homes, commercial and industrial, plus inspection and testing. We hold Approved Contractor status. Ask any electrician which scheme they are on before you book.
RATESWhat does an electrician charge per hour in Liverpool?
Our weekday rate is £80 an hour, 8am to 5pm. Weekends are £120 an hour. Emergency Rate is £150 an hour, any time of day or night. There is a one hour minimum and no callout fee. Parts are charged at cost.
SCOPEAre you domestic or commercial electricians?
